Mandala
Judging by the number of people in and out of the place while I was there, I'm the only person on the grid who hadn't heard of Mandala before this week. This is why I'm not in charge of the fashion blogging. But when Merrick got me a truly stunning necklace as a gift, I was inspired to check out the shop myself.
I was impressed by the creativity and attention to detail in the jewellery displayed, and also pleased that almost all the items had a male and female version available for purchase or were clearly marked as unisex. The jewellery was unique and intricate, and I gave in to the temptation of some accessories that are pretty far from my usual, though they may now become my usual.
The nail and ring set comes in four hands sizes, and different versions for nails only, rings only, complete (shown above) and simple (a less elaborate set of rings). Both the nail and ring set and the bracelet are easily made to fit with the resize script included, and can have full-bright turned on or off.
I'm not a great one for putting together accessories – I figure if I have my ring and a belt on, I'm doing pretty good (another reason why I don't do the fashion blogging) – so I was glad to find some that look impressive but don't require a lot of planning. Now that Mandala is on my radar, I can see myself returning regularly. The belts have already caught my eye.

Take a STAND4LOVE
You may have seen these photos on Facebook or Flickr. STAND4LOVE is an awareness campaign created by RicoRacer Flux and Editorial Clarity (you may remember their photo by Enzo Champagne in Case's Champagne story in our June issue) in support of marriage equality. The LGBTQ community has made great progress but there's so much more ground to gain before we can say we have the equality we deserve as humans. The Stand4Love campaign is pushing us further down the road by presenting images and messages of love from all walks of life, showing the world in one huge blog full of visual and literary commentary that love is love, regardless of sexual orientation.
Anyone can participate in this campaign. Simply follow the instructions on the STAND4LOVE website.

Malaika SL9B & Pride Fair
In honor of SL9B's theme of "community" and to celebrate Pride events going on in SL at the same time, Malaika Park sims has joined in with an open house event that showcases the talented vendors and artists of its community.
On June 21, the weekly Mayhem at Malaika dance party features the lovely and talented DJ Mirah from 6pm to 8pm SLT.
The last day of the event, June 24, will see an afternoon beach party from 2pm to 4pm SLT followed from 6pm to 8pm by a celebration of SL9B and Pride with DJ Mirah, culminating with a fireworks display!
The Malaika Park sims are beautiful to explore at any time, but with the added fun of the open house and special events, there's no excuse not to wander through, pick up some free gifts from the vendors, buy some of their wares, and enjoy the friendly community.
And stop by the Blithe SL booth while you're there: hit the kiosk for the current issue, and join our inworld group to keep up on what we're doing. Don't forget to pick up a special gift from Blithe SL, made by our talented CEO Merrick Genesis.

Black & White Auction
Well-made goods are highly valued in SL, and designers who make beautiful things can become quite popular, which is great for them, but not always great for consumers, who may find half a dozen other guys wearing the same new jacket. The opportunity to own something completely unique is rare, so when it arises, and especially when it arises in support of a good cause, we should take notice.
The Black and White Auction in support of Second Pride opened today and runs until Sunday, June 17. The event offers an array of one-of-a-kind clothing, art, furniture and structures, all in the black-and-white theme.
The silent auction boards are set up in the plaza outside of [N] club and will be accepting bids until the culminating event — a live auction and black-and-white–themed party — on Sunday June 17 at 6pm SLT. Bidding is easy: simply pay the vendor however much you'd like to spend on the item. If someone else comes along and enters a higher bid, your money is returned with a message informing that you've been outbid. You can then return to the vendor and pay again, raising your payment to above the current high bid.
Some items are reserved for Sunday's live auction, so be sure to return to the party to get your bid in. There will be dancing at [N] Club with music provided by SquirtN DJ so don't miss this chance to own a truly original creation while having a good time and supporting a good cause.

Kal Rau Denim Jacket
In the midst of our magazine rush, Kal Rau released amazing mesh denim jackets that are essential wardrobe additions. These aren't for the big men (I'm wearing the largest size), but will look great on those with smaller, less muscular shapes.
Like Kal Rau's other designs, the denim jackets are available in a variety of colors:
Stop by and pick up these high quality mesh jackets. You won't regret it.
Just look at that texturing at style. |

Just Music... Two DJ's on one stream!
Just Music, 2 DJ's on 1 stream! |
I tried, unsuccessfully, to probe Sasch about the methods employed to perform this unique "duo" in SL, but he's remaining tight-lipped about the mechanics of the connection. I may have to inquire again in a "pillow talk" situation... bitches do have their ways, lol! He did reveal that the duo were in different physical locations, not in the same real-world room, so whether Skype or some other connectivity was employed, who knows? The result was flawless, and a unique and exciting experience!
Despite the "secret recipe" remaining unrevealed, the party was a smash, and Sasch and Sascha turned out great dance hits, mashups, and vocal interludes, keeping the crowd entertained and sated with delicious ear-candy throughout.
Here's a few photos of the event, and if you missed it, I trust that Sasch, showman that he naturally is, will bless us again with a taste of twin-spin, at some future shows.
